Fresh Air back in May

April 19, 2010

As we mentioned a few weeks back Fresh Air is set to return this May with four more live dates around in Sligo, Kerry, Cork and Limerick and performances from Patrick Kelleher, CatScars, Hunter Gatherer, School Tour, Children Under Hoof, Hulk, Chequerboard, Adrian Crowley, Kevin Blake, Spilly Walker, Thread Pulls, Natural History Museum and Sunken Foal.  These live shows will all be presented by Donal Dineen, and he’ll also provide live visuals from his own photography and film work for the shows.

The live shows are being supported by The Music Network Performance and Touring award, and The Arts Council of Ireland who provide the funding for the scheme.  Thanks to their support we’re able to bring these great new irish acts to your ears.

As with last year’s Fresh Air, the live shows will be complimented by a series of live interviews and in-studio sessions with fresh irish artists on The Small Hours.  You can still listen back to the previous Fresh Air shows from November on Donal’s Today FM archive here>

We’re just finalising schedules for the radio shows but will publish info on them real soon. In the meantime here are the dates and artsits for the live series:

Saturday 1st May; Patrick Kelleher, CatScars, Hunter Gatherer, School Tour, Children Under Hoof in The Model, Sligo

Friday 7th May; Hulk, Chequerboard and Adrian Crowley in St. John’s Church, Ashe Street, Tralee for Club Head Bang Bang (Tickets from Lee Records)

Friday 21st May; Kevin Blake and Spilly Walker in Triskel, Cork

Friday 28th May; ThreadPulls, Natural History Museum and Sunken Foal for 8ball, Limerick

Check out the video page to get more of an idea of how the live shows go. They’re a little bit magic.
