Donal will be providing visuals as always, and music this time comes from Spilly Walker and Kevin Blake – so pack your dancing boots.

Painting the morning with the nights brush…Spilly Walker

November 11, 2009

Spilly Walker (aka brothers Robbie and David Kitt) dropped into studio for last night’s Fresh Air session (link to listen back at the end of the post), kicking things off with live performances of No Future and Never Wanna Say Goodnight– both from an upcoming debut album that is very nearly ready for release.

The lads chatted to Donal about working on the album on the past few years and their shared musical influences – whether it’s David giving his younger brother (then 11) the a-z of hip hop or Robbie tracking new songs online through pitchfork or hypemachine.

They brought in a very eclectic range of tunes for Donal including Washed Out ‘s Feel it All Around, Madvillan’s Accordion, Dam-Funk’s 10 West and an instrumental track of Kittser’s that has never been heard before – OK, Alone, OK.  Other new tracks included CFCF – Summerlong and  Service Bell a Feist & Grizzly Bear tune. Nas- The World is Yours was on the list but wouldn’t play on the night- here it is below:
